Baba Ramdev's $3.3 million island



Baba Ramdev owns an island off the Scottish west coast.

The Little Cumbrae was gifted to Ramdev by Glasgow-based disciples Sam and Sunita Poddar.

The couple bought the island for £2 million ($3.3 million) in August 2009.

Some reports say the island has been renamed as Peace Island.

Locally known as Wee Cumbrae, Little Cumbrae measures 313 hectares (3.13 square kilometres) in area.

Little Cumbrae is the home of Patanjali Yog Peeth Trust's first five star Pranayam Yog and Ayurveda medicine retreat outside of India.

The five-star yoga centre is called Wee Cumbrae Island International Yog Center.

The island is also on Twitter as @TheWeeCumbrae and has 30 followers.

The island is also home to the remnants of a 17th century castle.

Ramdev, when he first visited the island in September 2009, said he wanted the island to become "a centre of great pilgrimage."

Ramdev said that the island reminded him of Haridwar, "It is like the Himalayas and the banks of the Ganga
