A licence to build a Jewish Museum in the area of Maaman Allah History Cementery in Occupied East Jerusalem was recently submitted to the municipality, sparking a strong condemnation from the Palestinian community.

The Islamic Supreme Council of the 1948 areas submitted on Monday an urgent request to cancel the licence of the Jewish company, which according to Mahmoud Masalhah, who heads the Islamic Supreme Council of the 1948 areas, was processed by the municipality in secret.

Masalhah demanded that the licence applications be conducted publicly so that Palestinians would know before the work starts and are not taken by surprise. A six-story building will be built on 6,000 square meters of the historic cemetery.
